The annual Motorcycle Rodeo, held each April, is our largest fundraiser every year. Police and Civilian riders from across the World come to participate in challenging skills and training courses, all to support our camp. Spectators are invited to come and check out sponsor tables while watching the competitions.
The Rodeo is held in the Hoffman lot on Eisenhower Ave, next to the Metro, and across from AMC theater.
Our second largest fundraiser is our Christmas Tree Sales. Each year, we bring in several hundred Christmas trees from Pennsylvania. It has become a tradition for many Alexandria residents to purchase their tree from us and we welcome them, as well as new families, to support the camp while decorating for the holidays.
(Our sales are located at 110 Callahan Drive in Alexandria, at the end of the parking lot next to the Amtrak station)
Another fundraiser is the annual 'Send a Kid to Camp' golf tournament. This event takes place in September each, and will be held at Old Hickory Golf Club in Woodbridge, VA.
Lastly, we put together an APYC plunge team for the YMCA's Polar Bear Plunge at the camp dock each year. The Polar Bear Plunge is typically scheduled on a Saturday in January and features staff and other volunteers running into the Chesapeake Bay to raise funds to send kids to camp; really "Freezin' for a Reason!"
